Please continue to study your music daily. While we are uncertain if the event will be held at a later date, or possibly cancelled, continue to practice everyday in the hopes that we will be able to perform. You are a very special group of singers and I consider myself lucky to work with you.

Dear Honor Choir Participants and Families:                                                  March 2020

I am sad to announce that the Honor Choir event has been postponed.

In the event that we are able to reschedule, I will contact parents through their email and inform students immediately.

The following directions are for the event itself if rescheduled:

Student check in begins at 9:30A.M. with rehearsals beginning at 10:00 am.  Please do not arrive before 9:30.  At that time, you’ll sign your child in and provide emergency contact information for the day.  Parents may stay with their children as long as they’d like, but most parents leave after their child is settled in the auditorium.  I’ll be there all day with them.

Remember that your child needs to be at the rehearsal the entire day to be eligible to sing at the concert.

The students will be involved in rehearsals until 4:00P.M.  Students will be provided lunch and a snack. However, if your child has any special dietary needs, it is always a good idea to include their own snacks. Also, I suggest that students bring their own water bottles.

Students should wear black pants if they have them, along with whatever shirt they want to wear for the day. They will receive their Honor Choir t-shirt in the afternoon and they will change into this for the concert. If students do not have black pants, dark jeans are fine.

The concert begins at 4:00P.M.   This is a free event and all parents and family members are invited and encouraged to attend!

The rehearsals and concert will be held at in the Heritage High School Auditorium, 7825 NE 130th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98682.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you so much for helping your child be part of this special event.

Honor Choir tryouts usually take place in January. Five students are selected from the 4th and 5th grades to represent our school in a regional choir. The regional choir usually brings in over 100 students from fifteen to nineteen schools in Clark County. Students commit to after school rehearsals and then a guest choir director brings them all together on one workshop/performance day usually held on a Saturday in March.

So very proud of these bobcats singers who worked hard to master challenging songs including these languages: Chinese, Georgian, and Hebrew. It was an outstanding performance.  (2018)
